Success Notes of the Day: Introduction from :

How Successful People Think

Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life

By John C. Maxell

How often do you take time to think?

Do you take time to just think? How often are we on autopilot and not thinking things through and planning our wonderful lives the way we could?

Maxwell quotes Napoleon Hill saying, “More gold has been mined from the thoughts of man, than has ever been taken from the earth”.

Maxwell states that “Dan Cathy owner of Chic- Filet sets aside time to think for half a day every two weeks, for one whole day every month, and for two or three full days every year.”

The Age of Distraction

When was the last time you allowed yourself to just relax or focus and think with no distractions, no kids, no music, no animals, just you?

Our lives are full of Facebook, tweets and alerts and everything going at 1,000 miles per hour. Multitasking is definitely the norm. You can see it on the freeway in traffic with all the people on their phones, driving, and drinking their coffee.

Is there another level of clarity that you are missing out on by not getting those quiet moments to yourself to just stop and think?

How often do we go through our days overwhelmed with multiple things to do and somehow at the end of the day they all didn’t get done? Some days it feels like we don’t even have time to think; however in reality we do.

Action Step for Today

What if you began to take 5 minutes a day to get clear and focus before the distractions began to happen? Or even better in the midst of all the distractions take 5 minutes and just relax and think?

What golden nuggets are you not hearing because we you aren’t taking the time to listen to our quiet voice of intuition?

For some of us this could be a game changer! Make it a point today to get a moment of peace and quiet to just think
